Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) by Baz Luhrmann

I think that this music video for the song ‘Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) is simple but effective, the video includes typography which shows what is being said in lyrics and includes photographs which also relate to what is being said in the video, many people could probably recreate this technique using the video editing software on their computers. However, I think the video is really imaginative and creative as including the little things like the typography, pictures of what is being said in the lyrics helps blend the music and the video to relate to each other and therefore flow well when shown together. Also, the video going from colour to black and white when ‘faded’ is said in the song adds to those little things you can change to help link the audio and video together.

The use in super 8 in the video is really effective as the fast pace parts in some of the video complements the fast pace beat in the song whilst also relating to the lyrics.

Overall I really like the video because of the link it has to the music itself and how it all pieces together well and blends into one.
